Ruislip Synagogue's new and larger succah was used for the first time this week.

The free-standing structure was a gift to the congregation from the family of Louis Kahn in memory of the popular medical practitioner, who died in August 2007.

Dr Kahn was a Ruislip member for more than 40 years and served for many years on the shul's management board. Welcoming the gift, a Ruislip representative added: "We hope it will serve us well for many years to come."
