Londoner Natan Janner-Klausner has become the 500,000th participant in a Jewish Agency Israel tour. He was presented with a commemorative certificate by Jewish Agency head Natan Sharansky at a "Mega Event" in Herzlia for movement members from around the globe.
Natan, the son of North Western Reform minister Rabbi Laura Janner-Klausner, said that "looking out into the 10,000 crowd and seeing the smiling, proud faces of my close friends was one of the most incredible feelings of tour. I am honoured to have been given the chance to represent RSY-Netzer in such a positive way."
He was one of over 100 RSY-Netzer members on a UJIA Israel Experience educational tour, organised in partnership with the Jewish Agency.
Head of Israel Experience in the UK Richard Goldstein reported a record-breaking 1,318 participants this year. "Israel tour has become a rite of passage for young Jews," he said.
