A 57-year-old woman was run over by a gang who stole her car as she returned home from celebrating Rosh Hashanah with friends.
Arriving back at her Hendon home with family members late last Thursday night, she saw two men walking down her driveway. Two other men were sitting in her car.
The woman stood in front of the vehicle but the thieves drove away, knocking her over. The other men ran off.
She suffered a cut knee and bruising and was taken by ambulance to hospital, but was later released. An elderly relative who saw what happened suffered shock.
"I have been more concerned over my elderly relative who witnessed the incident and saw me fly off the car," the woman said. "I would advise people not to try to stop such people as they have no concern for human life. They may steal my property but they will not steal my life."
The gang had broken into her home via a kitchen window. The stolen car is a blue Saab convertible with the registration MAZ 7700.
Detective Inspector Caer Taylor, who is overseeing the police investigation, paid tribute "to the bravery of the victim. Police will be using all their expertise and determination to solve this crime."
