Ringing the tills for UJIA projects

articlemain

Manchester residents gave a ringing endorsement of the work of UJIA by pledging almost £60,000 in the Super Sunday telethon.

Volunteers from across the community phoned supporters from centres set up in the north and south of the city. Callers included Bnei Akiva, FZY, Habonim Dror and JLGB members and Yavneh and King David pupils.

Manchester UJIA chair Andrew Joseph was "delighted with the turnout of our fundraising volunteers and even more delighted at the positive response we have received from the community.

"It is clear that they are fully engaged with UJIA's endeavours to reverse the decline of the Jewish community in the UK and to provide long-term solutions for the thousands of children living below the poverty line in northern Israel."

A further £7,000 was raised in Liverpool.
