Camp Simcha's long weekend retreat for seriously ill children and their families attracted 250 participants from around the UK.
They spent four days at Alexandra House in Swindon enjoying a programme including magicians, climbing and ice skating.
There was also go-karting for dads, a pampering session for mums and a dinner for two, which parents could enjoy secure in the knowledge that their children were being cared for.
"Retreats are a special experience both for families and for Camp Simcha staff and volunteers," said the charity's chief executive, Neville Goldschneider.
"Our volunteers organise a wide range of fun events for the children as well as loads of little treats and touches throughout.

"While the children are in the safe care of our team of volunteers and medical staff, parents have the chance to catch their breath, away from the constant challenges that beset their lives throughout the year - in many cases 24/7."
Parents also benefited from being able to speak to others in similar situations.
