Jewish Women's Aid is setting up a new support service in Redbridge for victims of domestic violence.
The service, based at Redbridge Jewish Community Centre, will be available from November 1.
JWA executive director Emma Bell said: "We are keen to make vital services as accessible as possible to women who are living with the trauma of domestic abuse."
As with the charity's operations in Barnet and Stamford Hill, the Redbridge service will provide practical and emotional backing to women and children. Trained workers will offer safety and legal advice and help them to access housing and benefits.
"In the Jewish community, where emphasis is placed on family values, it can be extremely hard for women to talk about such matters," Ms Bell explained. "We provide an outlet for women to have someone to talk to in a safe environment.
"We allow them to see that it isn't their fault and that it does happen to others."
