Redbridge Aid Golf Society (Rags) has taken its fundraising tally beyond £1.5 million with the £145,000 earned from its 42nd tournament, held at Abridge and contested by more than 100 players.
Redbridge Jewish Community Centre will receive £130,000 from the proceeds. Rags will also donate £10,000 to the Community Security Trust and £5,000 to the Doris and Sidney Gold Rags Scholars, helping students to undergo leadership training in Israel.
Rags chair Lloyd Green was delighted that the committee had reached the landmark total. “Raising money is always challenging but in this economic climate it is even more so.”
