New Leeds Jewish Representative Council president Simon Jackson has told his first meeting of his plans to refresh the council’s image.
Addressing delegates at the Maz Centre, he illustrated his rebranding ideas with a 50-slide presentation.
Mr Jackson said the council’s key aims were “to defend, represent, reach out, develop our community and promote and support”. The “reach out” element extended to the city’s non-Jewish population. A fresh logo depicts the organisation’s title under a huge umbrella.
Mr Jackson cited the opening of a Jewish secondary school in September as an example of the community’s development.
