London schools are celebrating top, and, in many cases, improved A-level results, placing them high in national tables.

A highlight of a creditable JFS performance was a record 11 pupils taking up Oxford or Cambridge places.

Every exam was passed, half at either A or A-star and 80 per cent at grade B or above.

"Results such as these give us all great pleasure and pride for they are the outcome of highly skilled and focused teaching and guidance and committed hard work by students," said Jonathan Miller, head of the Kenton school.
