Israeli Ambassador Ron Prosor used a footballing analogy to tell over 80 young UJIA supporters that the media battle with Israel's critics could be won.
Addressing a Y-UJIA educational evening at the charity's Camden offices, Mr Prosor condemned the campaign of "delegitimisation, demonisation and double standards" against Israel.
"Like Frank Lampard's [disallowed] goal in the World Cup, many of Israel's adversaries have crossed the line." The media battle "can be won if we work really hard".
Guests also heard how UJIA's work in northern Israel was providing new educational opportunities.
