The United Synagogue is spreading its search for rabbinic talent to America and Israel.
Community liaison manager David Collins and Golders Green Synagogue's Rabbi Harvey Belovski met prospective rabbinic graduates at a job fair at New York's Yeshiva University.
And it hosted a Jerusalem meeting in partnership with JFS for potential recruits to both organisations.
Mr Collins said: "It is hard to rival the expertise of those who study at Yeshiva University and in Israel so that is where we are going to source the vast majority of our future religious leaders."
JFS head Jonathan Miller was among those who gave presentations at the Israel event.
He found it "exciting that a growing number of people are prepared to commit themselves to a career in education in schools and synagogues. Our students deserve the very best."
