New Orthodox primary school proposed for Borehamwood/Elstree area

Online questionnaire targets young religious families

articlemain

A campaign has been launched to create a new modern Orthodox Jewish primary school in the Borehamwood/Elstree area. The website set up to promote the idea is gauging interest among local families through an online questionnaire.

The three state-aided Jewish primaries in Hertfordshire -  Orthodox Yavneh and Hertsmere Jewish Day and the pluralist Clore Shalom - were oversubscribed by more than a class in applications for this September.

Although the website does not reveal the identity of the school's promoters, it states their belief that “with the continued growth of young, religious families in the area”, there may be demand for a new school.
