Limmud has appointed Eli Ovits as its new executive director with global responsibility.

Mr Ovits previously worked as chief operating officer for Jerusalem U, the American and Israel-based educational content provider.

He looked forward "to working with Limmud volunteers, leadership and staff to create innovative educational opportunities across the UK, Israel and the Jewish world".

Limmud chair David Hoffman said Mr Ovits would bring "initiative and creativity" to the role. "He combines a profound understanding of the UK Jewish community with broad experience working with Jews from around the world. And he is deeply committed to Limmud’s mission of vibrant, cross-communal, cross-generational, grassroots Jewish learning.”
