New Galaxy discovered by kosher food guide

articlemain

Good news for chocoholics. New varieties of Galaxy bars are among the additions to the latest kosher food guide.

The 2015 edition of The Really Jewish Food Guide - a Kashrut Division London Beth Din publication - features its longest ever list of products.

For the budget-conscious snacker, a wide range of Aldi confectionery is now certified kosher, including Dominion Dairy Toffees and Dairy Fine Turkish Delight. For those partial to a tipple, Coors Light beer and Smirnoff Freeze & Squeeze cocktails are also new to the list.

US Women co-chair Leonie Lewis highlighted the importance of having "ev-eryday products such as Tesco free range non-dairy cheeses and Robinsons squash approved so that everyone can access kosher products easily. I'm most excited by the chocolate - particularly the Galaxy honeycomb."

London Beth Din kashrut director Rabbi Jeremy Conway said "the KLBD spends a huge amount of time and resources trying to ensure the Jewish community in the UK has as much food choice as possible. This year, the guide also includes candle lighting times and a guide to Shemitta.

"We are really proud of all the work that has gone into the 2015 guide and would hope that, as a result, keeping kosher has never been so easy."

The KLBD currently certifies thousands of products and ingredients produced in some 1,000 factories in more than 50 countries.
