A Predominantly Muslim group has returned enthused from a visit to Israel under the direction of the East London Three Faiths Forum. The itinerary included the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Western Wall and Yad Vashem in Jerusalem; the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem and the Dead Sea. The group also visited Nazareth and a Tiberias hospital serving Jews and Arabs.

Co-organiser Imam Mohammed Fahim of South Woodford Mosque said: “I was so impressed with the way the tour went. It is a very peaceful land and we were welcomed everywhere in a very friendly atmosphere.” He said the visit to Yad Vashem, the Holocaust memorial, was of particular interest.
