The kosher restaurant at Liverpool’s Harold House Community Centre, which was destroyed by fire in August, is to reopen on March 1.
Mark Polak, a former co-owner of the Bagel Shop in the city centre, will run the refurbished 60-seat restaurant and hopes for “the full support of the Liverpool community”.
Although the menu has not yet been finalised, it will include traditional Jewish dishes and Mediterranean options.
Harold House manager Steven Simpson said a £60,000 refurbishment project had given the centre “a new lease of life”. Improvements include a wheelchair entrance, a ju-jitsu studio and a dance room.
However, the centre will move to the King David School redevelopment, due for completion in 2011.
