New south Manchester Jewish youth club the Hub intends to open in a blaze of colour on Sunday week.
Its first activity for members will be painting murals for the 8,000 square foot facility in a style of their choosing, symbolising that the membership will dictate the club's direction.
Six months of planning and a £25,000 outlay on building work and equipment for the former snooker hall on Moss Lane in Hale has provided "a superb interactive space" for 11-to-18-year-olds, said Hub youth worker Marc Fink.
"We can't wait for them to see it and start to feel that this is their youth centre for many years to come."
There will be sport, music and chill-out sessions at the weekends - 90 per cent of respondents to a survey by club organisers indicated a preference for Saturday and Sunday night opening.
A significant amount of the £120,000 budget has been raised and organisers are applying to Jewish trust funds.
