South Manchester's Jewish youth club has been forced to relocate after its premises were put up for sale, but organisers say the new location will be an improvement.

After opening in leased former snooker club premises in Altrincham 18 months ago, The Hub today attracts more than 100 youngsters aged from nine-to-18. Activities range from street dance to martial arts and cookery.

Some £120,000 was raised to equip the Altrincham property with computer suites and furnishings and to pay for youth workers.

Now the club is set to move into a new home two miles away in Hale Barns. The former office block requires a £15,000 refurbishment, but much of the equipment and furniture will be transferred.
