The council plans to hold a commemoration on Holocaust Memorial Day, Sunday January 28, at the Hendon campus of Middlesex university.
Councillor Brian Salinger, the Mayor of Barnet, said: “In Barnet, we are proud to have a large Jewish population and I encourage everyone to come along and look through the exhibition.”
The display also includes a section on some of the Albanian Righteous Among the Nations, non-Jews who protected Jews during the Holocaust.
During World War Two, Albania, the only majority Muslim state in Europe, protected up to 1,800 Jews living in the small Balkan country, providing sanctuary and refusing to hand over lists of Jews to the Nazis.
Councillor Salinger added: “This exhibition will help tell some of the incredible and under-reported stories of brave Muslims, honoured by Yad Vashem as Righteous Amongst the Nations, who rescued Jews during the Holocaust.”
