Let's drink to better disabled access

articlemain

A campaign by a Jewish Care resident to make Golders Green shops more accessible for wheelchair users has led to the local Starbucks providing full disabled access after a renovation.

Matthew Kayne, 31, who lives at the charity's Rela Goldhill Lodge, said disabled customers had difficulty accessing stores in Golders Green Road. The changes at Starbucks "will enable me and other wheelchair users to enjoy coffee indoors, rather than sitting outside in the cold".

He was delighted that MP Mike Freer was supporting his campaign and felt it was "really important to make all the shops in Golders Green accessible. I will keep on fighting for that".

Mr Freer said: "Matthew is the driving force and I was pleased to do my bit to help."
