More than 120 young World Jewish Relief supporters raised £12,500 for the cause from a dinner at the House of Lords with Lord Janner and 11 WJR trustees.

The dinner was organised by WJR's 2030 committee of young professionals, which raises funds for and awareness of WJR through networking, business and leadership events. Guests were given an insight into WJR's work in 20 countries.

Committee members Lark Bieber and Paul Braham spoke about a visit to Moldova in November, where they met some of the people WJR supports. They had been shocked by the level of deprivation but heartened by the positive nature of clients.

Lord Janner said WJR continued "to work tirelessly to demonstrate the importance of Jewish values and to help so many diverse and unique communities of different religions, races and ethnicities across much of the world.
