Young leaders in Leeds have been recognised for their volunteer work in the community.
Presenting certificates to 23 graduates of the Leeds Leaders project, local MP Fabian Hamilton stressed the importance of family and community life.
"What you do is part of that community and that is a reflection on you," he said. "When people have problems, they turn to other members of their community for support.
"The fact that you have all made this fantastic contribution to this community is really important."
Their commitment would help to ensure the continuation of a thriving community which had played a full role in the life of the city for many decades.
It was set up to get youngsters to volunteer
Leeds Leaders is a joint leadership scheme between The Zone youth club, Donisthorpe Hall care home and Leeds Jewish Welfare Board.
"It was set up as a way of encouraging youngsters to volunteer and become aware of the different organisations that exist in our community," explained Donisthorpe's Candace Grant. "They spend six weeks with each organisation helping out in any way they can."
