Meeting demand for facilities in Herts to help young Jewish adults with moderate learning difficulties, Langdon is poised to open a supported living community in Borehamwood.
The charity will look to raise £1.5 million over the next three years towards the project, catering for 40 clients.
Borehamwood was chosen as a major Jewish community, with good shopping and transport links.
It is also an area with retail and office opportunities for job-seekers and is close to Langdon's social and recreational hub, the Quadrant, which will formally open in Edgware in summer.
Langdon says the community will be comprised of a combination of flats and houses. Suitable properties have been identified and the plan is to launch in July.
"This is another milestone for Langdon," said chief executive Alison Rosen. "We have been totally overwhelmed by the need for our service as we concentrate on creating independent living opportunities. Borehamwood is an excellent location and we look forward to being a part of the fabric of this Jewish community."
