Although Pesach is still a fortnight away, some of the best supermarket offers have ended. But other reductions are being introduced.
At Tesco, for example, Kedem kiddush wine is now being retailed for £4.50 - in line with specialist outlets - having been on offer for £3.
However, its Kedem grape juice, priced at £2 until around a week ago, has now been reduced to £1.34. With a specific buyer for kosher produce, Tesco looks "to cater for all our customers and strives to offer them as much choice as possible.
"More of our stores than ever will be stocking Passover goods this year - 27 in total." In a repeat of the 2011 strategy, the chain is also stocking six own-brand Passover food products.
Asda, which offers a kosher range in close to two dozen stores, said it was "careful to tailor product ranges to our customers and work with local communities to make sure we have the right products in stock".
Sainsbury’s has almost doubled its Pesach range
Kirstin Morris, ethnic foods buyer at Sainsbury's, said it had "almost doubled the Pesach range with the introduction of approximately 50 new lines".
Sainsbury's has also allocated extra space for Pesach products in its Edgware, Stanmore, Finchley Road, Hendon, Newbury Park, Stamford Hill, Heaton Park and Moortown branches.
"We've had a great response so far this year from customers," Ms Morris added. "With Passover and other festivals such as Chanucah and Rosh Hashanah playing such an important part in the Jewish community, we are working to offer an extensive range to suit these occasions."
