The Jewish Council for Racial Equality is looking to cash in on "a non-event".
Instead of holding an annual fund-raiser at a swanky London venue, the charity is asking donors to support a "virtual dinner" on January 12.
Jcore hopes that keeping things online will increase the proceeds towards its projects for refugees and asylum-seekers and its general anti-racism work.
"Unlike our previous fundraisers, it's a non-event," acknowledged Jcore executive director, Dr Edie Friedman. "But while the dinner itself will be virtual, we will still be asking for real donations.
