It might not quite have been Take That, but there was only one boy band capturing the screaming attention of scores of teenage girls in Mill Hill on Sunday.

They were among the 600 fans of all ages who turned out for a concert by New York group the Maccabeats, organised by Bnei Akiva.

Bearing posters declaring their love for the band and sporting T-shirts featuring images from the Maccabeats' Candlelight video, they were rewarded with a mix of Hebrew songs and chart-toppers.

The Maccabeats - who have attracted well over five million YouTube hits for their Chanucah version of Taio Crus' Dynamite - offered their take on the Glee favourite Don't Stop Believin' and Coldplay's Viva la Vida, also performing their Purim tune, Raise Your Glass.
