Ilford Federation Synagogue has put its Coventry Road building up for sale and has its eye on a new home a mile away.

The 450-family congregation hopes to move north to the Jewish Care-owned Dennis Centre in Beehive Lane.

But the plan will depend on Redbridge Council granting planning permission to convert the centre into a synagogue.

Shul chair Leon Newmark said the proposed relocation would make it more accessible to members.
“It would be a more modern building in the area we are looking for.”
