A mezuzah ceremony marked the completion of an affordable housing complex for Charedi families in Stamford Hill.
Comprising 15 rented maisonettes near to the River Lea, Mountside Walk was developed by the Industrial Dwellings Society. The first homes were occupied at the end of 2010.
Although the location is slightly removed from the hub of Stamford Hill Jewry, Ashkenazi and Yemenite minyans have been set up in a building beside the complex.
IDS chief executive Paul Westbrook said: "The community is bursting out and needs somewhere to expand to." Monday's ceremony, with Rabbi Ephraim Padwa officiating, was "a nice thank you from the community to us".
