Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis has praised the efforts of Cockfosters and North Southgate Synagogue rabbinic couple Daniel and Ilana Epstein to involve younger families in synagogue life. Addressing the 450-plus guests at Rabbi Epstein's induction, Rabbi Mirvis said the Epsteins had introduced innovative programmes and offered warm hospitality.

The couple's four children read out a letter thanking the community for making them feel welcome.

Rabbi Epstein moved back to the UK after living in Israel for 16 years. He gained semicha in Israel following a career in marketing and PR.
