Hertsmere Jewish Primary School is celebrating an “outstanding” rating from Ofsted inspectors and a top score for Jewish studies from Pikuach assessors.

Ofsted found the curriculum “extremely well planned, including a remarkably effective balance between the secular curriculum and Jewish studies”. Tuition standards were excellent with staff ensuring “there are many opportunities for imagination and play, both indoors and outside”.

The Pikuach re-port recognised how the school had contributed to the development of good character traits among pupils. “A commitment to and love of Israel is central to the ethos of the school and plays a major part in promoting personal development.”

Hertsmere head Michele Bazak explained that “Jewish values underpin our behaviour policy. We also appoint teachers who are good role models for our children so that they can see how these values are implemented in a real life context.”
