Staff, volunteers and members of other welfare organisations attended Jewish Care's disability awareness conference, held on the JCoSS premises in Barnet.
Titled "What does independence mean for you?" it shared innovative ways of understanding different disabilities.
Workshop leaders included Pam Turpin, a national expert on disability and dementia, and discussions focused on physical disability and dementia, the importance of clear communication and welfare rights.
An experimental workshop using adaptive equipment gave participants an insight into living with certain disabilities.
Jewish Care's disability consultative committee chair Alex Cowan said: "The ultimate aim was to raise the bar for our staff and volunteers on disability awareness to ensure that we offer the very best service to those we care for in the community."
