Manchester's Heathlands Village has begun a three-week public consultation before a multi-million pound capital expenditure project revamps much of its ground floor area. The home's 200 residents will also get to suggest how they want their gardens and communal areas to look.

Heathlands is run by the Federation of Jewish Services, whose Joyce Khan explained that views were being sought on "accessibility, dining facilities and use of specific spaces, to consider how these can further be improved to ensure the best quality of life for our residents".
