Matilda Rabbie should have celebrated her 100th birthday in March at a party with friends and fellow tenants at Shine House, housing association jLiving's Finchley property. But the night before, Mrs Rabbie fell and broke her hip and spent her landmark day in hospital.
Now fully recovered, she enjoyed a belated celebration at the Shine House Halloween tea party, for which tenants dressed appropriately. For some, it was a first Halloween event. "I was very happy to be able to celebrate with my neighbours and friends at Halloween, especially after my 100th birthday party had to be cancelled at the last minute," Mrs Rabbie said.
