A chocolate Seder proved to the taste of FZY members who gathered in Hendon for a confectionery version of the traditional meal.
There was a Flake instead of a shankbone, bitter chocolate rather than bitter herbs and Creme Eggs in chocolate sauce replacing eggs in salt water. The charoset substitute - a rocky road mixture of icing sugar, cocoa powder, raisins and marshmallows - was well received. Participants also hunted for chocolate matzah afikomen.
To wash all this down, there were four cups of chocolate milk. There was even a sweet twist to the service, conducted with a specially designed chocolate haggadah.
"It certainly was a Seder with a difference," said FZY's Emma Nagli. "We had a great time on a day filled with lots of chocolatey goodness, games and songs."
