Twenty-eight Norwood supporters raised £45,000 from a three-day trek in Iceland last week that took in some stunning scenery. And as with all the charity’s challenges, participants included Norwood service users with learning disabilities.

Proceeds will benefit the Willesden-based Hope Centre, which assists young people aged between three and 19 with a range of educational needs. Among the trekkers was Norwood trustee Ian Fagelson, whose son Jonathan has been helped by the centre.

He said the participation of Ravenswood resident Jon Feuchtwanger “raised everyone’s awareness of Norwood’s vital work for children and adults alike. There was a great sense of camaraderie among the group. I hope we will be able to organise an even bigger trek next year.”
