Folk singer Newton Faulkner gave fans more than a musical performance at a Norwood networking event.

He also took questions from Radio 1 DJ Natalie Jamieson and an audience of 200 young professionals, who further enjoyed cocktails and canapés in the colourful surrounds of the London Film Museum.

The Brit Award nominee, best known for the song Dream Catch Me, revealed that his music was inspired by his "brother's sad love life". Other topics ranged from his feelings on X Factor - "it's a tricky one" - to the upside of illegal music downloading, which was that more people had access to different types of music.

Faulkner added that he was delighted to be supporting Norwood. "They do lots of amazing things. I hope people come to more events like this. We are here for a reason.
