Fire destroys block at Immanuel College

articlemain

An early morning fire has destroyed a classroom block at Immanuel College in Bushey, writes Jay Grenby.

The fire was discovered at around 8am last Friday. Hertfordshire fire service was called and the blaze was under control in an hour. Classes went ahead as normal, though fire crews remained for the morning, to the delight of students who were, said a spokesperson, "excited at having studies interrupted".

Investigations into the fire's cause are still under way, with an electrical fault as the most likely cause, added the spokesperson. The building, which housed two classrooms, was near the perimeter of the school site, well away from the main block.
