Finchley primary school recruits head

articlemain

The cross-communal Jewish primary school due to open in Finchley next September has appointed its head.

Marc Shoffren, director of studies of North London Collegiate’s junior school and a former deputy head of Clore Shalom, will join the project full-time in April.

Mr Shoffren, who is studying for a Cambridge University doctorate in education, said he was “thrilled to have the opportunity to establish an exceptional and innovative new Jewish primary school, which will welcome children from across the Jewish community and beyond”.

Governors’ co-chair Natalie Grazin said: “Marc has a proven track record in both mainstream and Jewish education, utilising the best of 21st century educational methods, including technology such as iPads within the classroom.”

He will help to recruit core staff and secure a site for the school, which is likely to be located in West or North Finchley or Woodside Park.
