The Duke of Gloucester visited Manchester welfare charity The Fed's Heathlands Village care complex to unveil a plaque commemorating its renovation.

Fed chief-executive Karen Phillips explained that, "as an architect with insight into building development, the duke was impressed by the refurbishment and modernisation of the building."

She added that his visit "provided so much pleasure to the residents and staff of Heathlands. They were able to chat to him and share their daily activities."
