Ofsted’s first report on the Etz Chaim Jewish Primary in Mill Hill rates it a good school where pupils make good progress in reading and writing.

Standards were “above those achieved by other children of their age” with “outstanding progress” in supporting pupils with special educational needs.

Also outstanding was the spiritual, moral and cultural development of pupils “due to the high expectations of the Jewish culture”.

Headteachers Yvonne Baron and Sharon Mullish said the report perfectly captured the ethos of Etz Chaim.
Governors’ chair Adam Dawson saw the findings as a “significant acknow-ledgement of the achievement that has been made so far and a fantastic foundation for us to build for the future”.

Etz Chaim accepted its first pupils in 2011. Following a lengthy but ultimately successful battle against opponents of its permanent site in Daws Lane, the school will move from its temporary premises before the new academic year.
