Western Marble Arch Synagogue member and Board of Deputies representative Bernard Silver has been elected president of the Consular Corps of London, comprising the consuls of all diplomatic missions accredited by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
Mr Silver, who holds dual British and Seychelles nationality, is consul, head of consular affairs and political counsellor for the Seychelles in London. He is also serving as acting High Commissioner.
Before becoming a career diplomat, he was involved in publishing, advertising and international marketing. He also stood as a Liberal candidate in four general elections.
