A star of Channel 4's Jewish sitcom Friday Night Dinner enjoyed a Sunday evening feature role at Finchley Progressive Synagogue.

In conversation with radio presenter Russ Kane, Tamsin Greig gave the Rose Segal memorial lecture to a packed house of more than 100.

Describing herself as "the only non-Jewish Jewish mother", the devout Christian spoke about her strong bonds with the Jewish community and her approach to the very different roles of Anne Frank's mother and the mum in Friday Night Dinner.

She also talked about her other stage, screen and radio work, including her portrayal of Debbie Aldridge in The Archers and an Olivier Award-winning performance in Much Ado About Nothing.
