Dementia expert to advise care home staff

articlemain

An expert in age related diseases is to advise south London care home Nightingale on its dementia strategy.

Professor Clive Ballard directs the Dementia Research Centre at King's College London, leading clinical trials and study programmes. He will work closely with Nightingale chief executive Leon Smith on incorporating the latest developments in dementia care into programming for residents with dementia.

"As the largest care home for older people in the UK, Nightingale has an impressive reputation in dementia care and is known to offer a top class service to its residents and their families," Professor Ballard observed. "Its commitment to striving for excellence in training of staff and the delivery of the best possible person-centred care for people with dementia is highly commendable and I am looking forward to working with Nightingale."
