JNF has played Cupid for London policeman Jonathan Brandman and Newcastle nurse Louise Rowell, who got engaged this week, a few months after meeting on the annual JNF winter Eilat trip. The couple were also in Israel when Mr Brandman, 27, proposed on the beach at Herzliya Pituach. “I offered Louise a solitaire diamond ring I had managed to smuggle out with me to Israel without her knowing, and she said ‘yes’.” Their initial meeting had been at the first-night cocktail party on the JNF tour. “We were inseparable for the rest of the trip,” recalled Miss Rowell, 28. “But I actually first saw him in the check-in queue at Stansted and it was love at first sight on my part.” She is studying at Northumberland University and the couple will hold off the wedding until she graduates. “We are so thrilled to hear of the engagement,” said JNF Future’s Jodie Norman. “Making people so happy makes it all worthwhile. We are already taking bookings for this year’s Eilat trip.” Unsurprisingly, Mr Brandman “highly recommends the JNF Future holiday to all young singles”.
