A new awards programme for Jewish children will be launched by Dame Gail Ronson next week.
Camp Simcha and Jewish Child’s Day will be making the awards to recognise extraordinary achievement, bravery under difficult circumstances, acts of kindness and contribution to the community.
Dame Ronson will be chairing the judging panel, also including JC editor Stephen Pollard, LBC broadcaster Nick Ferrari and Manchester Jewish Federation chief executive Karen Phillips.
“Through my communal work, I have seen so many wonderful children with such incredible stories of bravery and achievement to tell,” Dame Ronson said. “I think it is a marvellous idea to celebrate them in this way.”
At Camp Simcha — supporting young people with life-threatening illnesses and their families — chief executive Neville Goldschneider said: “We are delighted to team up with our colleagues at JCD to recognise the bravery, kindness and achievement of children in our community.” Nominations can be made on the www.jcy.org.uk website from September 3.
