A festival of Sephardi and Mizrahi culture at JW3 in Finchley Road on Sunday and Monday will showcase their history, music and literature.
Chef Claudia Roden, Britain's senior Sephardi rabbi, Joseph Dweck, and author Naomi Alderman will be among those involved. Organiser Mekella Broomberg, JW3 head of arts and culture, feels that while there is appreciation of Sephardi cuisine, "other elements of Sephardi and Mizrahi culture have been left behind". She wants the festival to alter perceptions and hopes that it will become an annual event.
