Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay accepted a cheque for money raised by the family and friends of 27-year-old Justine Cantor for a cancer centre.
Ms Cantor died two years ago following a battle with metastatic malignant melanoma, for which there is no cure.
Mr Mackay is a patron of the Velindre centre, where Ms Cantor received treatment, and the Premier League club has regularly helped her family raise funds for the charity. The donations in her name stand at almost £13,000. Her brother, Elliott, a season-ticket holder at the club, handed over the cheque.
Mr Cantor said: “When we started fundraising we received amazing support from celebrities all over the world, and had donations from Cardiff City fans we didn’t even know, as well as many people from the Jewish communities of Cardiff and across London.Velindre is south Wales’s main cancer hospital and is without doubt the best of its kind here.”
