Cardiff Reform Synagogue leaders have missed their target of having a rabbi in place for the High Holy-Days.
The congregation has been without a part-time minister since the departure of Rabbi Dr Charles Middleburgh in February of last year. The intention was for a rabbi to be start work on September 1. But a lengthy search has not borne fruit. Stanley Soffa, one of the five-member selection panel, said that as a temporary measure, former Brighton and Hove Reform minister Rabbi Charles Wallach would conduct Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services.
