Brighton briefly gets Rich

articlemain

Liberal Judaism chief executive Rabbi Danny Rich will deputise for Brighton and Hove Progressive Synagogue's Rabbi Elizabeth Tikvah Sarah while she takes a month's sabbatical to compile some of her articles into a book.

The likely title is Trouble-Making Judaism and she is seeking a publisher.

Rabbi Sarah said she would be looking, for example, "at the prophets who troubled and challenged their leaders. Life is about struggle and challenges."

The rabbi has edited three books and has had a number of articles published. She has been minister to the Brighton Progressive community for 10 years and will be available to officiate at Purim.

Synagogue vice-president Prue Baker said: "Of course we will miss her but we are very proud of her. We are looking forward to the visits of Rabbi Rich as he's always been very supportive of our synagogue."
