Bloom's job case verdict

articlemain

The last link with the family that established Bloom’s kosher restaurants has won an employment tribunal against Bloom’s current owner.

Jonathan Tapper had been manager at the restaurant in Golders Green and then at the branch in Edgware. He lost his job last year, prior to the Edgware restaurant closing in December.

Mr Tapper, 42, had brought the action against Kitty Rudolf, the managing director, for constructive dismissal. Judgment was given in his favour when Mrs Rudolf did not appear at the hearing in Watford to defend the action. He was awarded a five-figure sum, but declined to reveal the amount.

The fourth generation of the Bloom family to be involved with the restaurant, Mr Tapper said he was “happy that this matter has been resolved”.
